Last night I watched Doctor Zhivago for the second time, and I think it moved up considerably on my list of favorite films.
The first time I saw Doctor Zhivago, I had downloaded it onto my ipod and watched it on an itty bitty screen on a road trip. Although I enjoyed the movie, I wasn't able to fully appreciate it until I saw it on my slightly larger 19" television last night.
You don't watch Doctor Zhivago, you experience it. It is an enchanting, beautiful movie that just captivated me. The movie is famous enough that everything I could say has probably already been said (and much better than I could say it!) But I just had to write something. The movie has been on my mind every since I watched it last night, I can't shake it. It was breathtaking.
ps. I downloaded Lara's Theme on itunes for 99 cents - and I swear, if you listen to it with your eyes closed you can see the movie in your mind. It's magical.

I have the second half left! I'm really loving it so far :)
The photos are so breathtaking to look at. That movie is pure art and the movie really shows the talents of everyone in the film.
It's a great flick--the shots in the house filled with snow are truly unforgettable!
What, no Geraldine Chaplin? ;)
Kate: Was ever a star more beautiful than Julie Christie was in this film? For my money, no. Talk about a glow from within. She makes me want to be a Russian.
Thanks for the great pics and the great post. -- Mykal
pure gorgeousness! I didn't even listen and I already have Lara's theme stuck in my head...
Amazing screenshots!
I want to watch this movie again.
You've captured my favorite part of the movie in your screen shots. The end when he runs upstairs to watch her carriage leave in the snow...Just gutting. I think it ranks up there with most heart-breaking movie partings.
